Vibrant day-glo art, a menagerie of queer performers, the thrum of music sounding out across the greenery of Golden Gate Park, join Comfort & Joy at the beautiful National AIDS Memorial Grove for our 6th Playa in the Grove. This free daytime event showcases local queer art and artists, come join us and enjoy a beautiful summer day full of relaxation and revelry. The National AIDS Memorial Grove is a beautiful, sacred space for remembering the millions of Americans touched by AIDS and a place for the queer and allied community to gather and promote healing, learning and understanding. The Grove’s mission is to provide, in perpetuity, a place of remembrance so that the lives of people who died from AIDS are not forgotten.
Comfort & Joy is a non-profit whose mission is advance queer values both at Burning Man and globally by building community and creating spaces celebrating art and creative expression. Active for over 18 years, Comfort & Joy has encouraged and sponsored many Bay Area queer artists to help bring forth their playful, provocative and creative pieces to Burning Man and San Francisco
